There are total 10 teams that are divided into two different groups where each pool contains 5 teams. Each team will play 4 matches before the semi final and each team will have to win at least 3 matches to qualify for the semi finals directly, but if a team wins two matches, then they will be dependant on others sides of the same groups and net run rate will be compared to make sure that which team will qualify for the semi finals.
So this is a neither a simple task nor tough situation for the teams. Although Group 2 contains some toughest and dangerous teams and this will be difficult for them to maintain their positions in the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2016.
ICC World Cup 2016 Semi-Final Qualification Guide:
As mentioned in the pictures, the qualification rules have been defined as in the mega event World T20, if the teams ended up with same points in Super 10 stage, the teams eligible for the World Cup 2016 semi finals will be decided as per the following rules.
- Teams With most victories in 2nd Stage (Super 10 ) of ICC T20 World Cup 2016
- Those teams which will have same points regarding their equal numbers of victories, then they will be higher in position on the behalf of their net run rate.
- If two teams equal yet, then their head to head meeting in the event will be calculated along with the net run rate and points as well.
- If the mentioned above deciders procedure do not resolve the issue, then tied matches of the same groups teams will be placed as per their group seeding.
Semi Final Decisions Dependants:
- If Semi-Final match tied between two teams, Super Over will bring in to decided the finalist.
- In order the weather conditions do not allow to complete the Super-Over or the match with no result or abandoned due to rain or any other unwanted activity, then teams with most win and top position will directly progress to the final.
- If Final match of ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2016 remains tied, the Super Over will be utilized to get winner.
- if the match does not come to play due to bad weather or any other unwanted activity, then both the finalists teams will be joint winner of World Cup 2016.
